Search Engine Optimisation - Internal Page Links

To get the best out of all your pages of your website it is important that the search engine spiders are able to follow the internal links of your website. There are a few techniques that benefit you more in your search engine optimisation campaign.

1. If possible try to use text links.
2. Try to include keywords in the link text
3. Try to include keywords in file names
4. Validate all links to all pages of your site
5. Try and stick to a two to four clicks to any page on the site
6. Appropriate links between lower level pages
7. Try to include a sitemap, outling all the pages of the site in text based links.

If not all your links are valid it could cause a penalty in search engines, so be careful.

It's not always possible to only create text links, therefore if you are using image based navigation try to include text links at the bottom of the page.
